PM makes appeal for information on double-murder

As thousands of  Tobagonians gathered at the Montgomery Moravian Church in Bethel for the funeral service of Tobago's double murder victims John Mills, 69, and Eulyn John, 61, on Wednesday, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley called on Tobagonians to share what they know about the murders.

Mourners began gathering as early as 8 am for the 10:30 am service and a shuttle service was created at Montgomery recreation ground to take mourners to the church.

"Somewhere in Tobago somebody knows what happened here and all I can say to you is if you do not tell us, you didn't just put the knife in our backs but you are turning  it," the PM said to loud applause and shouts of "yes, yes, yes" from the audience.

"It will not be surprisingly at all if in this very congregation somebody knows something and worse, somebody carrying the coffin or walking with the cottage with a question to answer," the PM added.

Mills and John were found hogtied and stabbed at their Cocrico Drive, Buccoo home on May 2.

Their deaths brought Tobago's 2019 murder toll to five.
