The Works and Transport Ministry is advising of temporary traffic disruptions this weekend along the Beetham highway, as they carry out repair works on the eastbound lane, just after the lighthouse.
The ministry says the disruptions will begin Friday evening at 7 pm and should end at 7 pm on Sunday July 21st.
Motorists are advised that the westbound lane of the highway will be a dual carriageway, with two lanes heading west, and one lane heading east, between the lighthouse and Abbatoir Road.
To avoid delays and access the city, motorists are asked to use alternative routes through Lady Young Road and the market overpass.
Motorists are advised to drive at a reduced speed and proceed with caution when approaching the site.
They also are asked to observe all directional signs and barriers, and be aware of equipment and personnel entering and exiting the site and most importantly, to comply with instructions from police officers on site to ensure a safe and orderly flow of traffic.
